TRAVEL PROGRAM

Day 1: Outbound flight to Yaoundé/Cameroon: After a stopover in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), you will be met by your friendly tour guide at Nsimalen Airport in Yaoundé/Cameroon the following day.

Day 2: Arrival in Yaoundé and transfer to the prepared accommodations

Day 3: Guided city tour, description of the history of the city of Yaoundé.

4th trip to Mefou National Park

5th day: Visit to the Basilica at Mvolyé and the Cameroonian National Museum

6th day: Journey from Yaoundé via Édéa to Kribi

7th day: Beach hike to the “Chutes de la Lobé” (Lobé waterfalls)

8th day: Guided hike in the dense rainforest and encounter with pygmies

9th day: Cooking workshop – get to know Cameroonian cuisine in the morning, relax on the beach in the afternoon

10th day: Trip to the fishing village of Longji (fish purchase included)

11th day: Journey to the AFRIEUROTEXT beach in Ébodjé (sun – sea and relaxation, see picture at the very beginning) – visit to the sea turtle museum in Ébodjé and the fascinating ecosystem in Ebodjé’s mangrove forests

12th day: Cooking workshop (poisson braisé)

Day 13: Trip to Grand Batanga Beach

Day 14: Tour of Kribi city center

Day 15: On Ebome Beach (sun – sea and relaxation)

Day 16: Visit to the modern port of Kribi

Day 17: With a pygmy guide in the rainforest, discover and get to know the biodiversity of the rainforest up close – Visit a pineapple or plantain plantation

Day 18: Return to Yaoundé

Day 19: Trip to the Balemba or Ombessa market places across the Sanaga River – Visit a cocoa plantation – View the majestic Sanaga River, its sand diggers and picturesque riverside forests – Meeting market women in Balemba or Ombessa

Day 20: Hike in the savannah and visit cassava and yam fields

Day 21: Return flight to Vienna

Total costs:
3600 euros per person travelling. This amount includes flight ticket, Cameroon visa, local mobility, accommodation, food and board.

Important: By taking part in this travel programme you are supporting the WOMEN’S VOCATIONAL TRAINING SCHOOL that AFRIEUROTEXT Austria is currently building in Yaoundé/Cameroon in cooperation with its subsidiary organisation AFRIEUROTEXT Cameroon. Only education alone can permanently free young women and men from the clutches of structural violence in post-colonial Cameroon.
